We appeared to be in a subterranean pit, the underbellies of huge machines buried in concrete
encasements in the gloom. Well, at least we were in, although there was a little more work do be
done to find the majestic array of compressors and exhausters I’d seen on other photographs.
We made our way up the first flight of stairs and found ourselves in a similar area; all concrete,
casements and huge cast iron doors. Tom decided to continue up, whilst I found a winding passage
along the side of the Air House, twisting between the concrete beds and the blue glass wall.
